Soft Tissue Therapy flyer

A friend of mine asked if I could help by designing a flyer for her new massage business, specialising in soft tissue therapy.

If you are Brighton based do check out Jess's website/facebook page.

Khemara Fundraising Guide

Over the last few months I volunteered my design skills to help create a new fundraising guide for a Cambodian charity called Khemara. It is probably the largest single piece of work I have done totalling 16 pages of information about the charity, pictures and how people can help.

I would explain more about Khemara but the guide will give you a much better idea of who they are and what they do.

Geometry Posters

So I made a set of three posters which I will look to sell when I get back to the UK in a couple of months. I was playing with the Shape builder, blend tool and path finder in Illustrator to create these shapes. Originally I had them on plain backgrounds but felt they where missing something so I sourced some photography from pexels.com and desaturated them, leaving a hint of colour to compliment the shape colours.

My new logo

I decided to design a more permanent logo for myself so I could a) practice making logos and b) have a more consistent brand image to promote myself with.

The concept I wanted something that was modern but timeless, clean and mostly simple. I started by taking my initials and playing around in illustrator.

There was this really simple and sleek A I drew and I worked from there to get to the end product.

I took the design and made the rest of the letters to spell out my name to use with the logo, the next step is to make a full font in this style.

What do you guys think? I am really happy with how it turned out and I will be using this branding for the foreseeable future.

Wolves and Snow

Hello everyone.

So lately I have been playing a lot of 'The Long Dark' which is a survival game set in the Canadian wilderness which pits you against the elements like sub zero temperatures, bears and wolves. Great game and a great art style which inspired me to practice some ideas.

Check out The Long Dark here.

Travel Asia part 1 - Sri Lanka

A couple of years ago I went traveling around Asia and I took some photo's I really loved on my old Samsung phone. They aren't the best of quality but I loved the colours they had with the filter used on the phone so I wanted to try and use them.

I will be doing a few of these, doing the best I can with these pictures. First up the first country on my Asia tour- Sri Lanka.

Cocktails list

I got asked to do a really simple cocktail menu with only one colour so that the venue could get them reprinted very easily.

Magazine Advert

A couple of years ago I got the chance to do an music magazine advert for one of my favourite record labels 'Tru Thoughts'.

Posters of my past

A collection of old posters I did for the Fortune of War pub in Brighton, UK.

My business cards

So first post, what to share? Well I have been preparing a selection of work to put on this blog but I have also been creating a brand to showcase it under and one of the first things I have done is make myself business cards.

I have been using Illustrator more lately as I am teaching myself how to get to grips with it. Breaking away from Photoshop was a bit of a struggle and a lot of frustration having to learn all the new shortcuts and functions but I am happy with the outcome.
